PUBLIC PROSECUTION

My attention was drawn to an argument on cool fm this morning about public prosecution………….. A Port Harcourt based pastor advised a pregnant church member to deliver her baby in another church member’s house that happens to be a midwife. Only to sell the baby to another couple. The police arrested the pastor, the midwife and the couple, and subsequently advised the mother of the sold baby not to sue stating financial constraint as the reason. The policemen were believed to have been settled by th pastor and his criminal friends
The Question is; isn’t it the responsibility of the state/police to prosecute a criminal arrested?
